Can someone explain why this keeps happening

I will work on a project for hours saving normally (I have tried every saving method to get this to stop) opening and closing the program whenever I need to leave. Then One of the random times I open it back up it looks like this. I think I have remade this almost 12 times now. Random objects will appear in my workspace as well. 

I have tried. 

Maya 2023 at first which worked for the first part of my class. When it started doing that thing, I tried some fixes and it updated to 2024.

Same thing

I was told to try 2022

So I do not think it is me exactly because I have done nothing different since my first assignments and this started around the 4th or 5th.

That happend only once to me in 15 years of using maya. So this is a special case.

Could be corrupted prefs. Could be a corrupted maya install. Could be imported geo from an older project.

Could be a to big history stack. Could be everything.

I would start in a fresh scene and importing your geo as obj to get rid of all old maya info.

Based on the screenshot I would guess this is an issue related to history.

Please delete construction history if not needed anymore.
