BUG - Collada Export is broken

We have a character, which has a “character” node driving its animations from a series of Clips. There are blendWeighted nodes driving the animation playback. DrivenKeys drive positions and scales of those joints to provide some extra functionality.

The setup above did not have issues up to version 2024. Starting from Maya 2025, the output is not usable anymore.

Exporting straight out to Collada from the above mentioned setup type results in a broken file which, if reimported, results in an empty scene. The import log shows this line:
LOG: [ERROR  ] Import Failed! - The file could not be imported for the following reason :  Corrupted data structure

Next attempt was then to break all incoming connection to the character joints (effectively breaking the setup) and exporting again. Upon reimport, the skeleton with its skinned item came in with no error logged, however the item is displaced from the intended location and also distorted.

See the example output files provided. It’s a cube bound at the height of the hips joint. In the best case outcome file, that cube displays severe distortions and an overall location in space way above its intended location, rendering the content unusable. Something is clearly written to file incorrectly, just in a better condition in the latter case.

Importing these files into other applications result in the same exact outcome.

I raised a ticket for this also, but not sure the best way to report bugs for Maya?

The bind pose pre-transformations are actually meant to be there. Those have always worked flawlessly in the past, the functionality broke just in this release (2025). In the export process, removing the step to contain the skeleton within a group reveals that all joints matrices snap at zero location in space, while the cube is in the correct location as it should be in absolute world space. If needed, we can provide a comparative 2024vs2025 working output example of the same exact scene.
