AMD Ryzen and Unfold 3D Maya problem

Hi Everyone,

I'm dealing with a problem with my new computer (with an AMD Ryzen 3700 Processor) and the Unflold3D in Maya.

After some researchs, I found out that a lot of people had the same problem than me. It was a conclusion of an other topic, but still unsolved.

(PS: I already check my Unfold3D in my plugin-manager)

And I still have this error message when I'm trying to unflold.

When I'm cutting very smaller UV pieces, the unfold works, but still very annoying...

If somebody found a miracle solution, or a tips to resolve this problem, I'm all ears 🙂

Thanks A LOT,

Katia

Just want to let you know I have this same issue. It's a known issue and I think has been acknowledged by Autodesk. I found the bug page a while back and I think we're just waiting for a compatibility update? Or I hope so?

I have a laptop that has an intel i7 that unwraps perfectly so I just do the 3d cut and sew on my main comp then unwrap on the laptop as a work around.

If you use the unwrap tool it seems to work okay but then sometimes it twists the islands.

Anyway I figure I'd say something here.

I have 3950X and yes found the same problem

anyways for me this is happen with more poly count.

if I use simple model like 5000 poly its still ok with 20000 that problem

I hope Autodesk will fix this ASAP.

I'm also on a 3950x and I have same problem... Could the cause really be the CPU?!

I opted to download and try rizomUV. I'm a student so the pricing is fine
for me so long as I use it enough. They have a rent to own pricing system
for non students though and I feel like that's worth it. It's the most
intuitive software I've seen so far and it still uses the unfold 3d
functionality. The auto seams are awesome too.

Unfold3d works up to ~571 UV coordinates per shell on Ryzen. I noticed that on some parts it worked on some it didn't. I just upgraded from i7 6700k and now I am upset ;(.

Threadripper 2950, Maya 2022 and I can't use unfold on even mid poly meshes. Crashes maya almost all the time. WTF? Works perfectly in standalone unfold, not to mention Blender.
