This is more of an artistic question, but I'm finding it really difficult to get the look I want with xgen. I've done enough tutorials to know what I'm doing but the best I can manage is a look more like fur than slightly wavy medium length hair which is what I'm after. I'm modelling Ash Williams from Evil Dead 2 at the mo and I want to get his hair looking like this:
My render:
It looks ok but I'm struggling with any kind of control over it, I've done clumping modifiers, noise modifiers, expressions you name it. The best I can get is either very clumpy hair like a stylized manga character or just a bushy afro can't seem to get anything in between.
Like in this tutorial the guy has a styled haircut:
Does anyone have any tips as to how to get a more styled haircut based on the guides I create?
3D modeling is never easy but man xgen is hard, I keep going round in circles, but having said that it can produce some wonderful results.
