Skinned XGen hair moves in viewport but not in Arnold

First time using XGen, I probably messed my whole scene up but I have a character with hair that I'm moving in an animation. It looks fine in the viewport, but in the Arnold IPR the hair doesn't move with the head and scalp. The scalp only has head and neck bones. I followed a tutorial that doesn't make my hair part of a collection (the newcollection I don't think controls it, that was an early attempt at making hair). I need to finish this soon and at this point I'm going to just keep her head still...

So turns out the hair was actually fine, the Arnold IPR viewer just couldn't update it properly. Idk how to fix that but that was the issue.
