Fluids 3D container

Hello

I’m creating clouds using Maya fluid.

I’m using  Base resolution of 100 so it will be faster to preview, once I increase the Base resolution to 400 the fluid look totally different. I assume changing the base resolution should just increase the resolution, the same way we add samples in rendering. Am I right ? How can I create fluid in low resolution and the cache it in high res and they will still have the same proportion.

I attached files for reference.

Hi!

Am I right ?

- No, sorry. If you change anything related to the simulation, the result will change too.

"How can I create fluid in low resolution and the cache it in high res and they will still have the same proportion."

- This isn't supported by default for Maya fluids.

However you could try using a lower res container as field for a higher res container by using Dynamic Relationship Editor.
