I've basically got the sim I want out of a Bullet soft body in Maya 2018. It does a nice little bounce and deforms the way I want it to. Unfortunately it won't stop moving. It spins clock wise ever so slowly and vibrates a tiny bit.

Hi!
1. You can use "Damping"
2. You can disable "Self Collision".
3. You can even animate an Attribute to change the behavior at a certain time,
like reducing Gravity which constantly adds a force (+ mathematical perfect flat surface on mathematical perfect flat ground ...)
Thanks! Turning off Self Collision did the trick. I assumed you needed that on to maintain the shape of the object but Shape Matching seems to be doing that for me just fine. Added in just a touch of damping helped too.
