Everything I've ever read or heard about Maya's implementation of Bullet says that the 'mesh' collider type can only be used for static objects. In fact, the menu item right in the Attribute Editor interface says: "mesh (static only)".
So why, all of a sudden, does it seem like the 'mesh' collider type works fine with animated Kinematic rigid bodies?
See the attached file. I've tested in Maya 2024 and 2023 and it works in both--even though, according to the docs and established knowledge, it shouldn't.
There is nothing about this that I've been able to find in the docs or online. I don't usually get angry when new features are added or limitations removed, but to do this and say nothing about it for at least two years...?!
Can others confirm this new "feature"? Autodesk, can you offer any insight or explanation? Any other major changes to Bullet that we should know about?
