XGEN IGS random hairs exploding

Hi,

I'm trying to help out a student who has done a great job grooming a koala for his capstone project.  The problem is that when the koala is moved away from origin into its tree some of the hairs explode.  It's almost as if a few of the hairs closer to the UV seams are either not moving enough with the mesh.....or are getting a double translation of some kind.  I don't believe there are any masks being used, so it's not a map painting issue. If anyone has experienced this, or knows of a quick solution that would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Kris.

Hi all,

It looks like it's an issue with the clumps getting caught in the UV seams.  Because it was more pronounced around the seams on the fingers, toes, and mouth I ended up slightly increasing the clump density and created a density mask removing the clumps around the problem areas (painting zero).  A quick note, I also discovered the overall clump mask at the top didn't resolve the issue....only the density mask worked for some reason.

I've attached 3 images.  One is screen capture of the mute toggle for the clump layer, once off the exploded hairs disappear.  The other two are the density and density map settings and the map I created which seemed to do the trick.

Cheers.
