Maya crashes 100% when trying to cashe nparticles

guys I'm losing it 😞

have a rather simple scene with one particle emitter and I'm not able to cashe the particles because Maya crashes every time when hitting chase with the default settings.

Just for fun I made an empty scene added one emitter an hit cashe...crash !! Any idea what's wrong ?

Hey, not really what could be without looking at the scene. But as I mentioned before your best bet for all this kind of FX is Bifrost. 

It is a lot nicer to work with and you do not have to deal with these headaches, It is a lot easier to debug and is procedural, meaning that you can play with different setups easily, and then cache is very straightforward.

I'm ok at using particles and have all setup and ready but fear rendering, especially on different machines. It's such a basic task and should work 1000%. On my trusty Maya 2020 the same task works with no problems. Will test Maya 2024 on a different machine tomorrow. Hope that works, will just cashe my particles and be happy !

I just rendered the animation and strange things happen 🙂 In playblast and in the viewport the instanced particles have rotation and look good. In rendering however the rotation is completely ignored and the particles do nothing....super strange. I managed to open the scene in 2020 and there I could cashe the scene and it renders correctly including rotation. Now can someone explain that to me !!

HELLO SUPPORT ...someone working here ?? still not able to cashe in 2024.2 would be nice to hear if there is some kind of bug or what's wrong.

It's totally frustrating and I need to make money to pay for my licenses !!!

Same here, Maya crashes as soon as I try to cache a simple particle animation.
