Mash crashes when adding animated collider

Hi,

 

When trying to replicate the second example in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Y59i0kcNU&ab_channel=IanWaters - having a MASH dynamic network collide with a texture-deformed plane with its collision mesh set to Mesh - Maya crashes on playback. I'm on Maya 2020.3. I've read elsewhere that changing the evaluation mode might affect these simulations, but nothing seems to affect the crashing.

 

What I'm really trying to do is simulate nCloth, cache that to alembic, then input the alembic as a collision object to the MASH dynamic simulation. Or, for that matter - simulate and cache a Bullet simulation, or just another MASH network, and input that as collider. 

 

(Not sure how tied-together MASH dynamics and the Bullet system are, but I can't seem to get a deforming mesh to work as a static collider there, either. I've tried different combinations of keyframe animation vs animated texture deformers, evaluation modes vs static/kinematic body types, and different collider shape types - but no luck.)
