So i've been trying to rig this character for a university project, and I had an issue with the weight painting when I bent the arm. I go to edit it and the entire mesh deforms strangely around the weight paint, almost like it's inverted?
It's hard to explain in words so I will attach some pictures.

After editing it and rotating the joint - the weight painted area messes up entirely.
Any and all help is appreciated. This is quite urgent too since there is a deadline on the project.
