I've bound my rig to my mesh using Geodesic Voxel smooth bind, but unfortunately when I go to use the paint skin weights tool the color feedback isn't showing up. I also don't know if, when I try to paint without the color feedback, it's actually doing anything. I've tried doing what the other forum posts suggest (i.e. checking my viewport, making sure "display default materials" is unchecked, etc) but nothing is doing the trick. I'm using Maya 2017 and this is my first time skinning so none of the options should be tampered with. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
