Referenced Rig Not Reading in Unreal

Howdy All! Thanks for reading!

 

I'm using the reference editor for several animations that I wish to import into unreal. Problem is, even though the FBX reads fine in Maya it doesn't go through in Unreal. I'm certain it's something I'm doing on the Maya end. Basically the bind pose, mesh and rig import fine into Unreal. No issues. The bind pose is the rig the reference files refer to. However, my animations (using the same methods that I exported the bind pose) turn my poor character into a nightmare demon in unreal. Additionally, if the reference animations are imported and NOT bound to the skeleton on the original bind pose unreal doesn't read them at all. As in if I try to import them solo (to test it) like I did with the bind pose unreal doesn't import it at all. I've done this process with none reference editor reliant animations and I didn't have any issue. 

Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated!
