Merging Two Meshes After Collision

Hello all! I am working on creating an animation of soap bubbles colliding, bouncing off one another, and eventually joining into one bubble.

I am wondering if anyone in the community has created animations where one mesh joins with another mesh when they meet. Basically like you might see in real life where one bubble soaks up another bubble and they become one. Below is a couple of screenshots describing sort of what I'm talking about:

Would the best way to achieve something like this be manual mesh animation or a particle system?

Hi!

It depends a bit on how many bubbles you have... But if you have so few bubbles that the viewer can focus on the collisions, you might want to go with manual keyframe animation and use Bifrost to do the combining of the bubbles.

Here is a tutorial on the basics of Bifrost so you can check if that maybe is the solution you are looking for:

I hope it helps!

Ooo, this might just do the trick! I will test this out and report back. Thank you so much for the reply.
