Maya default layout

Normally  the Maya default layout has the timeslider longer and the playback controls are to the far screen Right .

Currently my timeslider is bunched up and the playback controls are not in the corner- see attached pic.

Is there a way to return the layout to the way it was before without restoring to default setting? Or is this the new layout for 2018?

HI there- Thank you for replying- I'm not sure I understand your directions. - I tried them and I still have a layout problem - also I think I lost some tabs on the side. If you could be more specific with the directions...
