FK Space Switching conflicting with Arm IK setup

Hi, I was following a tutorial series (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV4XRgmTynY&t=21s) from Maya Learning Channel.

So I have an arm rig with IK/FK switching. However when I use the IK setup and the FK space switching set for example to 'shoulders' or 'upperbody' the IK chains splits. The actual IK joints stay where they should be, but the segmented joints and result joints move with chest/upperbody Controls, which in reality they shouldn't move at all unless the arm CTRL is moved.

Image attached below.

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Anyone knows how to fix this please?

Hi @danielblaze

Thanks for posting! 🙂 What version of Maya are you working for this tutorial? I took a quick peek at the video and it looks like this was published for 2013, so some workflows may have changed. I did find this video for Maya 2018 which may be useful: Intro to rigging for Maya

Thanks again for being a part of our community! I look forward to getting this resolved.
