Deleting a spline IK curve

I accidentally applied a spline IK handle to my root joint.

I want to delete the IK and spline curve, but when I delete the spline curve the joints on my model shift and collapse on themselves.

How do I delete a spline IK curve without affecting the joints' position?

(I can delete the IK handle without a problem, it's the curve that's causing me trouble)

Figured it out,

I had a multiply/divide node attached to the spline curve as well as all my spine joints, so when I deleted the curve, the joints shifted to 0.
