changing hands with parent constraint

I am creating a short animation of a baseball bat swing and at the end the bat switches from one hand to another. I have parented the bat to one wrist and annoyingly just moved the other hand to fit on the bat for every other frame, but at the height of the swing, the batter changes hands. every time I try unparent the bat and re-parent to the other wrist it messes everything up throughout the whole animation, and when I parent the other wrist and the bat, the child wrist becomes a noodle arm with no bones. I have just learnt about locators in my quest to figure the problem out, but haven't tried using one yet. any advice for this problem would be greatly appreciated!!!🙂

You could group your bat, and then parent constraint this group to both wrists. And animate an influence of each hand. Also, animate the bat object itself.
