Blendshape skewing issue in Maya 2023

Hi

i am having an issue with blendshapes in Maya 2023, wich is new to me:

1 - i create simple poly sphere

2 - i apply a blendshape deformer with 2 blendshapes - (just rotating the verts in 2 different axis)

3 - if both blendshapes are active i get a skewed sphere issue (see pic)

I never had this before!

any idea why this is happening?

Thank you

What you are showing is correct.  When you say "I never had this before", that is where the error is.  This looks as it should.  Your final shape is the cumulative deformation of the 2 target shapes.

Thank you, but it doesnt really makes sense to me because i am just rotating in both cases around the center of the sphere

blend Shape deformation is linear. point A to point B

there is no rotation

the first target moves a  vert in one direction.  ( lets say 10 X )

the next target moves the vert in a perpendicular direction ( lets say 10 Z)

end result is vert moves in a straight line from 0 0 0 to 10 0 10

this is true of all blendShape deformers in all DCC packages.

there have been some plug-ins out there that try and create a curvature target
