Animation Courses

Hi All,

I'm studying 3D on Maya and my target is became an Animator. I've done a few beginner courses online and some tutorials on Youtube that helps me a lot, however, I'm feeling that I need a step forward and get some proper course.  Can someone tell me if there is out there some good course online? I live in Liverpool and it is very hard to find a presential course here, so online is my option at moment.

My another question is about internship, is possible, been a beginner, find some internship job? I think that this is the best way to learn an practice everything that you learn getting involved in some projects. what do you guys think about it?

Regards

I've heard Animation Mentor is very good: http://www.animationmentor.com/

I've used a couple of their free rigs and they're great to play around with. The school I went to taught Pluralsight tutorials https://www.pluralsight.com/ which are good for getting started. Haven't used them in a long time, though, so not sure how good they are for advanced animation.

There are some online animation schools that are pretty good

http://www.animationmentor.com

http://www.animschool.com

http://ianimate.net

and there are less expensive course oriented websites you can learn animation by course,

https://www.pluralsight.com

https://www.udemy.com

https://www.lynda.com

If you have the resources then I will recommend joining one of those online animation schools because there you will get individual attention and feedbacks.

Joining an internship is a great way to improve your workflow and learn production pipeline. If you're looking to join one I really recommend building a basic foundation in animation before reaching them. If you know Maya's interface well and basic knowledge in animation then you will have a higher chance of landing as an intern in studios.

Hi,

Many thanks for your time answering my questions.

I've done some courses online at Udemy and has been very useful for get the foundation in animation, of course I need to keep going though, but at the moment I'm familiar with basics in Maya.

I'm working at moment, but I have 3 days off that gives me time to get into my studies and a possible internship. I'm thinking about 1 or 2 days working as a intern to get the necessary experience (at this point, I don't mind been payd for it) to go onto next steps but I don't have any idea were i can looking for something  like this, so suggestions are very welcome.

The best way to get into a studio as an intern is to contact them personally.

And there is a website https://animdojo.com where you can get advice and workflow tips for the current industry standards for a very cheap price. You will also get some character rigs and live sessions with senior animators where you can ask questions. It's worth checking out.

And all the best in your career. Smiley Very Happy
