Use as Image Sequence Not working - Maya 2025 Mac - Bug?

Hello everyone,

I am able to load a single image into Maya 2025 as a reference, but the second I select Use as Image Sequence it gives me: Error: Unable to load the image file. 

What I have tried:

- Changing the image sequence name to Name.#.jpg

- Changing the image sequence name to Name_#.jpg

- Moving the images to a different location

Responding to myself so that hopefully it helps someone else. I was able to get it to work by changing the image sequence number to start at 001 rather than 1001. I also shortened the file name to a short word.
