Rigging for Unity and VR

Hey all.
I have some freelance work involving rigging a character for Unity that is VR capable. I've done some rigging in the past so I know how to construct a basic human rig in Maya but for a character in Unity and especially for VR I'm not sure. The client has mentioned that HumanIK would be suitable but I am in need of information/help. Any information/pointers or tutorials? that could prove useful? I'd be very grateful for anything.
