Hi guys!
I just reinstalled Maya (and my PC) and the QT playbalast option is gone.
Anyone?
Yes, I have installed QT Pro and I'm on Windows 7

Hey Laura, come stai?

Probably you have to install the quicktime after Maya.
Also, Apple is not updating quicktime for windows anymore
so Many people download this alternative

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/quicktime_alternative.htm

and usually, they can playblast again in .mov format...
Ciao 🙂

Try this,
you uninstall completely Quicktime,
and then reinstall it without the player, just the codecs.

See if it works,

what windows version are you using?

I´m using win 10. I just downloaded the quick time installer now, just to check.
I have executed it and I can choose between typical and custom installation...

It worked!!! At least on the regular Maya (the Batch from the office doesn't: but now this is THEIR problem 😉 )

Thank you, guys!!!

For anyone who needs this: If you have iTunes and apple update installed on your computer before you install Quicktime, it will bomb. So you need to uninstall everything apple related. Not just QuickTime. When you install QuickTime, under the options, choose custom, because you also have to disable auto update. For a neat way of installing just what you need. Once you download the installer, right click on it and extract to a folder. Only use the QickTime.msi. For full details have a look at this video (with subtitles it is easy to follow) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PThPqI_KZLo&ab_channel=Y%C4%B1lmazBerk
