problem importing video reference

hi guys,

I am using maya 2019 (education license) on a windows 10 machine.

when I try importing my video ref, it gives me a YELLOW BOX WITH A CROSS and an error msg; 

// Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2019/scripts/others/importMovieImagePlane.mel line 53: Image plane is in movie mode. 'KaranMalhotra_I Killed Him_wk10.mov' is not a supported movie file type and/or codec on this platform. //

I have tried changing the path, converting to mov, avi, even tried a png sequence, no luck.

I am using Adobe premiere for the conversion.

This is really stressing  me out guys, pls help.

ooh... 1 more thing, just to let you know, I do not have Mental ray

What are the extension name of your files when you try PNG sequence?
 Maya is very picky about how the files are named.
In order for her to respect the image sequence you are trying to import, you need your naming to end with a number: 001, 002, 003 etc...And to not have gaps in the numbering.
Also, Make sure "Use image Sequence" is turned on and that you don't have any gaps in your sequence.

Thanks but I think that problem sorted self.

Just had to download the latest version of Quicktime and it worked.

Now one problem remains, is there mental ray for maya 2019? and if so, where can I download it?

I am afraid there is no Mental-Ray for The latest versions of Maya

it Shifted to Arnold as a default renderer and Mental-Ray nodes no longer supported.

As far as i know, there is no MR for Maya 2019, but i might be mistaken
