Pose Space Deformers Issue

Anonymous
Not applicable

Whenever I add new poses to the pose interpolator it messes up the weight of the new pose and or the previous ones, the new pose can sometimes have a weight of 0.5 or 0.3 but I need it to be at 1 while I am editing it and I need the rest of the poses to be at zero. I have followed countless tutorials and haven't been able to find any information or help on how to rectify this so any help is appreciated. I have added a picture for information.Screenshot 2021-04-26 at 20.27.01.png

What I see is that you have set Swing poses for twisting deformation. Sort it out, and you will have less problems. Also, enter the Advanced mode, see what is there.

As to creating new poses, I usually disable other ones for that joint. In theory this should work without disabling those, yet it glitches often, faith no more.

Hi thanks for the help! I did actually have a couple of poses that were meant to be the twist only which was the last two and I have changed those to twist only but still have the incorrect weight issue. Also how do I disable the poses before adding a new one? I cant seem to find an option for that but if you mean hitting edit after making the changes to turn it off - I do that before starting a new pose each time. I have attached a picture showing the advanced view as I am not really sure what to be looking for, it all seems fine to me?

Disabling pose with this

Try editing with all those disabled, but your current pose you are editing. And, don't forget to turn those back when testing. 🙂

And you might wish to swap Linear Interpolation mode for Gausian.

Thank for the help! Unfortunately when I disable the poses that I am no longer working on and turn them back on again the weight doesn't go up to 1 but up to 0.5 so then when I edit at 0.5 it edits the geometry in its default state too.Screenshot 2021-04-27 at 14.54.59.png

Your last screenshot is related to the elbow joint, another poseInterpolator. Are we still on the same page?

If you go back to the shoulder, then when editing l_shoulder_jnt_40_0_0 pose, you disable 4 poses above it, so those don't influence the offsets of the pose you are currently editing. Do edits, switch back-forth between Neutral, once satisfied turn back those four, test mixed rotations.

thanks, I was able to do all the deformers needed for the shoulder without anymore issues, so now moving onto the elbow to do the deformers I am having the issue where I add the pose while having the rest of the shoulder poses off (I've tried them turned on too just to see what happens) but the weight for the elbows new pose is at 0.5 and not 1.

The pose name containing 240 deg angle raises questions, shouldn't it be set to n120? You might need to enter it explicitly within the channelBox.

Enable independent and change Rotation Falloff by entering the rotation of current joint(110).
