Parent Constraint Problem

Hello,

When i try to make a constraint for my human model's shoulder i seem to get a glitch or something.

I started with  "Create > NURBS Primitives > Circle"

    - I rotated it 90 degrees and then selected "Modify > Freeze Transformations"

    - I then made a group for the circle. Then, selected that group and then parented it with the shoulder joint.

    - I zeroed out the "Translate x,y, & z"

I then tried to constrain the shoulder joint to the shoulder controller with the controller as its parent

    - Selected the circle and then (SHIFT + Selected the shoulder joint)

    - "Constrain > Parent"

After i did all of this i get a displaced shoulder joint. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thank You.

First create the circle  and group it, Then select the shoulder joint and shift select the Group (Circle) and parent  constrain . once constrained the group will placed in shoulder joint, then delete the constrain.

Now select the circle and shift select the shoulder joint then parent constrain. now the circle in same place according to the shoulder joint  axis.

Exactly how @Anonymous explained is perfect! Reason to constrain the group and joint is so your controller can inherit the same rotational axis as your joint.. also, a huge thing is to make sure your controller has the same pivot as your group node, double verify that as well when you try again! Thank you for your help. I unparented the shoulder from the circle so that i could parent the circle to the shoulder. It was glitching because i had both of them parenting eachother.

Thank you. I most definately made sure that the pivot points were the same!
