Moving skinned mesh to another identical skeleton

I have two meshes and two identical skeletons (imported from a very niche format, and the only importer available does this).
I want to move one of the meshes to the other skeleton (not its own) and then remove the extra unnecessary skeleton.
How can this be done?
(If i unbind, rebind i will loose my weights).
