Hello again Maya forum. I've recently tried learning to use the Node Editor for advanced rigging and it seems intuitive enough, however for some reason I can't create a closestPointOnMesh node that has inputs.
Here is the example I am trying to replicate:
and here is me trying to do the same thing. I pressed TAB, entered in closestPointOnMesh and created a node for it, but even expanded all the way, there are no inputs.
I tried other nodes, like an OrientConstraint and it has inputs, it seems the one node I want to use doesn't create inputs when created in the Node Editor. I noticed I CAN get inputs if I select a mesh, and give it a closest point on mesh constraint from the constrain menu, but I'm wanting to connect a locator shape to it, and then from it to a follicle, so I have no need to involve a mesh at all. Plus it creates cpConstraintIn and cpConstraintPos in the outliner which are apparently not used in the example I'm following. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a way to utilize the node in the node editor?
