Maya file wont open

I cannot open a file on maya but it seems to be working on another computer. I am using Maya 2019.2. Other files can open but not this particular file.

might be version issue , save as the file for lower version

So I should use Maya 2018

Try saving them as .ma.

If this doesn't work you can try export as FBX or any other format.

Switching between different Maya Versions during a project is not a good idea (exchanging models by using export and import should not be a problem).

The file is saved as an .ma, I do not get why this file will work on other computers but will not work on the one I am currently using.

Only possible option out of this is to either try exporting the specific scene/model in different formats , if that doesn't work there is no way around you have to use 2018 MAYA then

Without any error message or the scene-file there is no way to check what's the problem.

However @Anonymous  has a good idea, to export your model and then re-import this.

I can suggest to delete all history you don't need anymore before you save a Maya file.
