When I play, the yellow indicator disappear. When I stop, it shows up. Anybody know how to fix it? It's Maya 2018.

Hi bao007fei,

The time marker has been hidden during playback in 2018 to address a major performance issue.

We are planning to re-introduce the time marker during playback in a future release.

Why is this issue marked SOLVED?

The problem remains a year later?

Please review you outstanding issues. I know the list is very long. But please make sure that all the issues are on the list. Otherwise we will be talking about this still when 2028 is released.

Hi!

One answer is marked as "solution", cause it answers the question "correct".

So

- others searching for a solution find the right answer fast and

- people who want to help know that there is no need to invest more time here as it's already answered.

What if the time indicator was not an entire line going through the entire Graph Editor?
What if it was a second time control attached to the bottom of the Graph Editor like the one at the bottom of the Maya interface?

  • I was able to add one by modifying the "paneLayer" that contains the Graph Editor and Outliner by changing it to "top3" in one the options. That made space for something to fit in very nicely under the Graph Editor and scale up and down when the paneLayer splitter was moved. It took about 3 minutes to locate the correct mel file and modify it.

When?

Has this issue been forgotten?
