How to rig a scissorlift/mechanical accordion?

I'm trying to rig this robot character for a final project. He is supposed to be able to raise and lower using the accordion structure I've set up. I've seen several videos that show this kind of rigging is possible, but none are tutorials, just demos of the rig. I tried to set up some sort of IK rig that would chain down the accordion via parenting, but it didn't work like how I wanted it to. Do you have any recommendations on how to do this or does anyone know how to do the IK's properly?Capture1.JPG

Normal IK wouldn't help with this case. To get even movement you should use a spring ik. It's a bit tricky to find because it's not visible for the standard user. You have to type " ikSpringSolver; " without quotes into command line or script editor. Found some links may help you to that.
