Good morning, from the big apple.

I was watching a tutorial on using Mash inside Maya, where the artist made a low poly version of a 1m square with about 20 subdivisions. And applied a simple texture to it to look like grass after using soft-select to manipulate the simple plane into what would appear to be a piece of terrain. Then modeling a small cube into what would be a blade of grass.

he was going through all the Mash a tributes so far as distribution and random movements but it wasn’t mentioned like in Max where to ad to realism although on an object like this unless the grass was your only focus then it would be problematic. But just for the sake of information can you set up collide or limiters for example in an animation that has a character and he is walking on a floor you would have to add parameters so his foot does not go through the floor when taking a step. So in essence each blade of grass does not seemingly cross over or through each other. It was just a question I thought I would like for use at a later date.

thanks
