Can't edit graph editor handles

For some reason I can't edit the curve handles in the graph editor. When I try and select a keyframe, nothing happens.

The handle's are circles instead of triangles or squares

Have you tried creating a new empty scene and see if it does the same thing? A screenshot would help.

Also, check if your animation channel is locked or something similar. Make sure the color is red.

Cheers,

Hi,

Off course!

So have you tried with an empty scene while animating a cube for example?

I'm using Maya 2019 so I might not get the same result than you. My keyframes are not even the same shape as you too.

Have you checked the channel you are animating to make sure it's not locked or something?

I can't see your maya file anywhere in your last message...

Hi,

I figured it out.

It's because your curve is handled in Quaternion right now so there's no handles.

You have to change the Curve mode by going Curve > Change Rotation Interp > Independent Euler

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/maya/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/Maya-Ani...

This is from the documentation:

Key types
  •

     Diamond key: non-weighted tangents
  •

     Square key: weighted tangents
  •

Circle key: a key on a quaternion curve (no tangents)
  •

Hollow key: A new key with 'automatic' tangents. The key is filled when you adjust the tangents to show that it has been edited.
