Hi everyone,

I am a recent graduate and recently I had to move from a student license to the Maya Indie License and after making the switch I encountered this issue. "basicExpression has encountered a divide by zero. Result is unpredictable. // " After this message the rig disappears from viewport, the only thing that fixes it is unlocking animation layers. But then when I relaunch the file it just happens over again. its not a giant issue its just frustrating that It keeps happening each time I open Maya.

I have reinstalled Maya and Mgear and it hasn't solved it.

I have attached a video of the issue encountered when I opened Maya

Thanks!

it looks like your camera just moves below the ground plane... ( check other views )

But if there is something wrong with the rig.. open the rig file. and check there.

Does it have an expression on it?

if the rig file is fine.. then yes, it's probably something in the anim file.

turn on "history | echo all commands"

and see if you can find what "expression" is being run that is having the issues.

if it is indeed the animation layers.. you may have to bake them down to base layer

Is the rig created with the student license??  doubtful it would be an issue, but maybe while you have the rig file open,  re-save it as non-student
