Hi there,

Is it currently possible to run a daylighting analysis in Revit that returns a light exposure over time result (i.e. in lux-hours for a day, month, year?)

Thanks!

Hello.

Currently the only way to do it is through Dynamo.  That process is ot super elegant right now either, so we are mostly working with a few early-adopters to work out the bugs.  If you'd like to try it, let me know and I can get you started.  As we work on automated solutions, we'd like to know what sorts of things you'd like to do with multi-hour analyses.  Currently we are targeting daylight autonomy such as sDA and UDI, and it sounds like you are suggesting some additional workflows I'd be interested in hearing about.

Hi David,

Here in Sydney, Australia when we design a new developments, we have to prove that :

"Living rooms and private open spaces of at least 70% of apartments in a building receive a minimum of 2 hours direct sunlight between 9am and 3pm at mid winter in the Sydney Metropolitan Area"

Can you please advise what is the best tool to calculate and assess a large scale project (500 residential apartments) that we have already modeled in revit?

Can we use LIGHTING AND DAYLIGHTING ANALYSIS to ashive that?

Thanks in advance,

Moh
