LEED results from daylight analysis

I am running the LEED daylight anaylsis and the Lighting Analysis room schedule results show me areas compliant for 9am and 3pm seperately. I need the area that qualifies for both 9am and 3pm simulation for the LEED submittal. How can I generate that?

I would suggest either use RCML and export to the standard LEED spreadsheet and/or create a calculated field in the schedule if you want to see the results in Revit.

I tried the RCML but that exports a blank spreadsheet. I tried using the Export manager and that exported a blank spreadsheet too.

What would be a good formula for the calculated field  in Revit? I am using this one

if([9am Area within threshold]<[3pm Area within threshold],[9am Area within threshold],[3pm Area within threshold])

This doesn't quite give me the area that qualifies for both.

Good questions (sorry for the delay, btw).

This is a matter of interpretation of the LEED rules actually.  We initially created LAR to show areas that qualified for both times, but this is actually pretty restrictive.  Our interpretation of the rule (and this is supported through oru conversations with GBC) is that the LRegularly Occupied Rooms for the project should meet 75% for both times, but not necessarily each point or space in the analysis.

Using the Room schedules, you can calculate the Rooms that meet both at the same time with your suggested calc.  At the level of points, that calculation is done internally.

Also FYI we are working on integrating the RCML functionality into LAR.  RCML was a Labs preview, so it remains a bit buggy.

Thanks for your reply . I used the LAR results for a LEED submittal and was awarded the point. Would be using it on more projects soon.

I don't believe this issue has been resolved. The LAR schedule shows results at 9am and results at 3pm but I do not believe that these results taken separately can be used to demonstrate compliance with LEEDv2009. Daylight spaces must be compliant at 9am AND 3pm, not 9am OR 3pm. So I believe it is missing a column in the spreadsheet that would calculate what % area is compliant at 9am AND 3pm. Please let me know how to deal with this important issue. Thanks.

Here's a Forum post that discusses it.

We are confident that the existing method in Insight Lighting is correct, but to help those working with GBC reviewers who disagree, we will be adding the 'Both' results to the next release.
