Very ODD Sketch constraint status while checking thru API

Hi,
all of you must be aware of the small line of text that appears in the bottom status bar in sketch mode which tells you if the sketch is fully constrained or not.
I wrote a macro that checks for underconstrained sketches in a part model, but the constraintstatus for all sketches comes as "kUnknownConstraintStatus" even for fully constrained sketches ( as per status bar ) and the .ivb just manages to catch a few sketches as "kUnderConstrainedConstraintStatus"
Can anybody throw some light on this?
