Save Copy As periodically as workaround for autosave

Hello,
I have idea to create iLogic/VBA Script which throws Save Copy As action periodically as "homemade autosave feature".

Save Copy As does not trigger "old file" creation. And there could be per document switch for disabling this action (as Custom iProperty for example).

Sounds great to me, but maybe there is some obvious caveat which I can't see...

What do you think?
