Replace Family Template option missing in 2018??

I'm trying to work with our custom content center at my company and change the unit format from 0.000 to a fractional, however, the option to "Replace Family Template" is missing.  The procedure used to be to edit the units in an output part and then replace the family template so that all new content center parts would match this structure, but I have no option for this in my Content Center Editor....

What gives?  How am I supposed to change the units in my custom content center now?

You need to switch from "Merged View" to your read-write library and then the extended menu is available.

Thanks for the reply.  I didn't realize that it wasn't possible to Replace Family Template while in merged view.

Now that I have the option back, I am still having trouble getting a correct fractional length to show in my auto-generated Part Number field.  So frustrating.  This software drives me nuts.

Can you share your part with me?

You can push a text in content center family part number which gets calculated when the file gets generated.

It seems like any part I try to change the units to fractional never seem to get written in the part number field.  I added a custom property "L_mod" and set it equal to "L" and was able to get it to show in a specific column in a part list, but the text showing in the Part Number field will simply not change to a fractional value.

If you can help, I would really appreciate it.  I'm not VBA-savvy and can't really write a macro to help get around this.

Also I need to be able to change Frame Generated pieces to also show their length in fractional as well.  Having to edit every piece simple isn't possibly or practical and exporting BOMs that read a piece of flatbar or pipe cut to 3 decimal places looks silly.  I haven't done much investigating on this issue though.  I'm just not sure they use the same tables to generate fields.
