Mirroring partfiles through iLogic

Hello,

I have about 500 .ipt files of products in a specific windows folder.

All of these parts are available in two variants, right- or left side.

All 500 .ipt files as of now are left side variants.

In order to get the opposite side i would have to open each single one of the 500 files, then mirror all the bodies inside around a plane, delete the original part and save it as the other side variant.

It would be nice if i could mirror these parts through iLogic.

Has anyone done something like this before? Any ideas?

Diffeculties:

- Some are multibody parts, some are not

- I believe not all of them are centered on the origin, it doesnt matter if that the parts are not in the origin themselfes, but i can imagine it makes the mirroring more diffecult through ilogic, not sure tho.

Hi @Daan_M,

I would have a look  at the derive function :

The derive option will let you choose the work plane for the mirror, if desired. It also works for single & multi body parts. I would go about like this :
1. Create a list of all the parts to be mirrored (let say all parts in a directory)

2. For each part, create a new part with the new name (delete left & add right for instance)
3. Use the derive option (select all the surfacebodies) & use the mirror option

4. Save the part

5. Repeat for each part

I don't have the time as for now, but it looks achievable.
Cons : Do all the part have the same workplane for the mirror ?

Kind regards,

FINET L.
