Hello everyone,

I need an ilogic code for mirrored sheet metal default settings.

I have two parts you can see in the picture.

"1-1" base part

"1-1 MIR" is mirrored one

How can I write a code to get the default setting base to mirrored one

Hi @t.cankurtaran

So this functionality still isn't supported in even the newest version by code. In the newer versions maybe 2020 onwards you can manually set the follow sheetmetal styles from the derive command. In some versions this was defaulted off which caused issues and I think it is now defaulted on.

In any case if you want to match the styles in both the derived and parent part you will need to look to the parent, record the style then reach into the derived part and set the style, likewise for the thickness. There is a post in this forum on how to do this written by Jhoel Forshav but I can't seem to find it.

I would start with looking at derived ilogic parts by code then add in the sheetmetal specific functionality. Here is a post to look at the reference components of a part.

You can see here you can toggle the appearance and this is where the follow sheetmetal styles should be and will be when it gets exposed in the API. So once you have the definition you neeed to then change the styles, thickness etc all the items available in the sheetmetal styles dialog box.
