Layering in IDW files

I know that the layers in an IDW template can be set so specific things can go to specific layers. (i.e. The outside geometry of a sheet metal part vs. the bend lines in the same part can automatically be put on their appropriate layers.) This is great when I creating the sheets for the flat patterns of the sheet metal parts.

Is it possible to bring in an assembly view of the parts and have them automatically go to a different set of layers? (i.e. Have a different set of layers for assembly views.)

Thank you in advance for anyone that can help.

If I understand correctly, you want to put different components of a drawing
view of an assembly onto different layers. If so, you can follow the
procedure outlined in the following thread. Instead of setting the
DrawingCurveSegment Visible property, you would set the Layer property to
the desired layer.

I gues the easiest way to explain it is this way. I would like to have a set of layers, linetypes, & colors for the sheets that individual parts. And then have a set of layers, linetypes, & colors for the assemblies.
