how to stop my dimension line breaks

Is there a setting that allows me to disable dimension line breaks in my IDW? I frequently have instances where text comes close to a dimension line. I do not want my dimension lines to break when this happens.

Re-positioning text is about all you can do.

The issue is text objects (Text, Leaders) have a background to their text areas that wipes out whatever is underneath them. Dimensions do not have this IIRC.

You simply have to do the best you can to make text objects and leaders stay away from dimension lines. Additionally, on text objects, make sure the area defined by the handles (green corners) isn't any bigger than it has to be. A 6" X 4" area that has just 'TWO WORDS' in it, will still wipe out the text behind the whole 6 x 4 area.

Thanks for the Help. I was looking at this thing backwards.
