Have a leader reference a specific note in the General Notes section.

Let's say your drawing has a "GENERAL NOTES" section with 9 entries. You want a specific dimension or callout somewhere on the drawing to reference note 9. What we do now is convoluted and manual, and I'm looking for a better way.

What happens now:

  • Overridden balloon shape has contents overruled to be empty and shape changed to hexagon, placed over note number in GENERAL NOTES section.
  • Similar balloon shape with GENERAL NOTES number (in this case, 9) attached with hidden leader to dimension.

If the note number changes, the balloon is wrong. The balloon isn't really "attached" to the notes in any appreciable way.

Is it possible to do this in a way that updates if there are changes to the GENERAL NOTES section? Is there an industry standard method for handling this kind of thing that I should be looking at?

Is it possible to tie the GENERAL NOTES section note numbers to something that can be referenced in the leader dialog box below?
