Custom Border - Resize for Sheet Change

I'm trying to make a custom border that looks and functions very similar to the Default Border in the stock templates, since that one can't be edited, and I'm running into some issues.

3 things the Default Border does that I need:

  • Resizes automatically when you edit sheet size
  • Changes number of zones automatically (eg. a D-Size sheet is 8horizontal, 4vertical, change to C-size it updates to 4/4, B is 4/2)
  • Changes margins

If I do "Define New Border" it's just a static border, I would need one per sheet size. This is my fallback plan with iLogic built into the IDW to swap the border if the sheet size is changed.

If I do "Define New Zone Border" I get to define static margins, and the rectangle and zones re-size automatically if I edit sheet size. This is not ideal because from a practical standpoint, I want larger margins on a D-size print than a B-size. Also, the number of zones is static, and I either have way more than I need on a small sheet size or not enough on a large sheet to be useful.

I've seen some suggestions on the forums to use sheet formats. That is fine for creating a NEW sheet/drawing, but not for editing an existing. For example if I have a C size sheet and need to add a view, I just want to bump up to D and not have to mess with much.
If I could just set the borders for the default that'd be great, but there doesn't seem to be a way to tell it what values to use anytime someone does a sheet size change, it seems to have some sort of function based on existing margins.
