Change sheet metal rule on a solid body with iLogic

Hello ,

Does anyone knows, if it is possible to set the sheet metal rule for a solid body in a Multi-body sheet metal?

You can set a different sheet metal rule for each solid body. So is it possible with ilogic to create a rule,

if this parameter = 5mm, then set sheet metal rule for a specific solid body? So, when the parameter change to

another value, you don't have to reset manualy the sheet metal rule for this specific solid body...

thx in advance!

Hi Niels,

Any discussions around unreleased functionality should be carried out in the Feedback Community. If you log in to the Inventor project you will see a User Forums link on the left side. From there you will see a forum specific to iLogic - that's where you want to be 🙂

Thanks

Chris

Niels,

To get the fix to work, you need to make a minor edit to your rules. I created a new thread topic with some details in the iLogic, API and Automation category in the User Forums on the beta feedback site.

Hi @chandra.shekar.g ,

Do you know whether the Inventor API has a method or property to make sure the "Follow Defaults" check box under the Set Sheet Metal Rule dialog box is always on? Inventor has a bug that turns this off when you're deriving more than one sheet metal part. The body automatically turns it off.

I know how to change the sheet metal rule in a solid body through API but haven't found the option to turn ON/OFF the check box "Follow Defaults". Please let me know whether or not this is possible.

Thanks!
