Change Frame Generator member without replace

Sorry for the re-post, by i mistakenly wrote content center in my last one and not frame generator and I couldn't edit the original post or delete it.

This might have been asked before but i can't find an answer or maybe i am approaching this wrong, but does anyone know how to change a Frame Generator Size member without replacing the file?

It wastes so much time and produces excess files everytime i want to change a member to a different size. Is there anyway around this? Maybe the latest inventor version but i am not able to use that yet, still running 2019 for work upgrade reasons.

I am hoping there is a setting i have missed. It would be even better if someone knew how to also swap between types but maintain the file ,such as i have two section profiles, one for the UK one for USA and want to swap between them, they are identical profiles apart from the actual size table. And no they aren't all stored in one single profile because i use numerous country section sizes and have one part / profile for each one.

Otherwise i might have to try to workout if it's possible to do this via API which i don't really want to waste time on coding or working out.

Thanks, Matt.

Usually when I have an issue and search the forums, it is a issue that has been addressed years ago.  Strange that this is not one that has been addressed. Also quite the coincidence that we are both seeking this solution concurrently.

Why is it that you cannot create multiple versions of a frame, using different member sizes, based on the same skeletal model, without creating an entirely separate model?  One would think that this could be accomplished in a way similar to creating an iPart.

Yep, it has been one of the main reasons i avoid Frame generator (along with the inability to restructure the assemblies without it falling apart) I have been using ifeatures as a replacement, it it much more reliable but a significantly slower process.

This one is for any Autodesk staff, hopefully you can help me out here.

I am testing out messing with the content center + frame generator files via the API. Just starting off with the basics, trying to swap a part from an equal angle profile to an unequal angle profile.

I have replaced all the custom properties below, and it successfully writes to them. But once i right click and select change size, it is still reading the original template and overwrites all the properties again instead of swapping it over.

Can you please tell me what part of the file is controlling the identification of the source template?

Content Library Component Properties

   - *All properties under this property set

Design Tracking Properties

   - Size Designation
   - Categories

Thanks, Matt.

Could you make a small screencast showing how you use ifeatures to make frames? Thanks
