Auto Dimension

Is there a way to auto dimension a sketch? I couldn't find how to do it.
Thanks.

Kind of doubt it since there isn't even auto infer of constraints. You must place each
sketch constraint individually so I am guessing the same for dims.

Of course I could be wrong though

Automatic constraint creation isn't currently supported. The tools are
there now that someone could write a function that would do it. We've also
discussed providing a method to automatically add constraints to an existing
sketch, but that capability is not currently scheduled.

Hey Brian,

How about tools for auto dimensioning? Any plans for that in the future?

Thanks,
Keith

OK, so no auto dimensioning. Why don't I tell you what I was trying to get
and maybe there is another way.

When you create a 3D part and don't dimension the sketch, the parameters are
not listed in the model parameters window. So I was thinking about how to
get them. Are there parameters somewhere that describe these dimensions
that weren't dimensioned in the sketch? So if there are then no problem.
Auto dimensioning would not be needed in my case.

Thanks,
Keith

There aren't any parameters in this case. When you leave a sketch partially
constrained Inventor solves it the best it can given the information you've
given it. We could expose the auto dimensioning at some time in the future,
but currently it's not high on the priority list.
