Hi xperts, I'm currently working in a project for the university and I really need to know many things before to continue.
First quest: Is it possible using apprentice server the following steps?:
1. Open and read an IPT file.
2. Based on that ipt file, perform a slice operation (I know it's necessary to create a idw file, BUT if this process is worked on a memory variable??? You do not need to create anything.)
3. Print that view on a paper. (the process picture is below)
I know the Apprentice server just read objects for that reason that won't show nothing on screen like a blind operation where the input will be an .ipt file and the output a printout (with the slice operation on it). It's not necessary to create or modify nothing, just read. So please I need to know if this operation could be possible with apprentice class.
Second quest: I know that the step 1,2 and 3 are perfectly possible with an “external client app” (I’m developing that app in C# and seems to be easy, I guess) but is necessary keep inventor running, Is there a way run my external client app without keep inventor running?
